Boehringer Ingelheim: Animal Welfare

2019 Platinum Marcom Award Winner

2019 Silver Davey Award Winner

2019 Gold Vetty Award Winner

Animal Welfare, providing for the physical and mental needs of an animal, is becoming more and more important in the cattle industry. And Boehringer Ingelheim passionately supports it, so they wanted producers to remember that their love of the land includes taking care of all who roam it. Putting the needs of the herd first means keeping them safe, well nourished, healthy and comfortable. It means doing whatever’s necessary to prevent and treat disease, alleviate stress and handling them with care. To convince producers that practicing animal welfare is the right thing to do, we reminded cattlemen that they’re caretakers who pride themselves on knowing right from wrong.

Cattle Welfare Website

To help persuade beef and dairy producers to adopt more humane animal welfare practices we created a website called – Cattle Welfare. The goal of the site was to share information that supports producers in providing the best possible care for their cattle. The information showed how by incorporating animal welfare practices producers could also maximize their ROI - A win-win.

The Cattle Welfare website was created as a resource for beef and dairy producers so they could go to read up on the latest in animal welfare, pain management, industry trends and of course the many benefits of incorporating animal welfare practices…

Bovikalc - Subclinical Hypocalcemia (SH)

2019 “Best of Show” Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award Winner

Subclinical Hypocalcemia or SH is a condition that effects up to 78% of dairy cows and is often not detected until it’s too late and the cow is already suffering silently. After calving, cows lose high levels of calcium through consumption of their milk and colostrum, putting them at risk for SH. Left untreated, it quietly depletes herds of calcium and farmers of profits. Bovikalc supplements blood calcium levels when they need it most to support milk production.

Cattle are big business for beef ranchers and nothing reduces profits like parasites. When a herd is infected parasites spread quickly reducing their weight. But LongRange is so effective at preventing parasites that it’s proven to deliver an extra 23lbs per head of cattle – allowing producers to get more profit out of their pasture.
